**Please note that if a passenger changed their flight or connecting flight after they checked in their bag; Their bag status might not update till the bag is rescanned about 1.5 hours before their rescheduled flight**


Bag Transfer Rules

  • Standard- and Gate-Checked bags transfer if all of the following are true: 
    • The tag shows ALL connecting airports 
      • If not, they must claim and recheck the bag at the airport listed on the top of the claim check 
    • The bag is transferring from a domestic or preclearance flight 
      • If not, passengers must claim and recheck their bags at their first US port of entry.  
      • If bags were left in customs, contact your supervisor. 
  • Valet Bags never transfer. If a passenger shows you a valet claim check, direct them to their arriving gate in Terminal F. 
  • Bags can transfer between airlines, following these same rules. 
  • If the passenger has a connection in another country, they should check with airport or airline representatives upon arrival about baggage claim policy there.
