Preclearance Airports

US Customs and Border Protection preclears passengers upon departure from certain airports. These passengers arrive in the US as if they were on a domestic flight.


Passengers arriving to PHL from the following airports do not need to go through Customs:

  • Halifax, Canada (YHZ)
  • Montreal, Canada (YUL)
  • Toronto, Canada (YYZ)
  • Nassau, Bahamas (NAS)
  • Bermuda (BDA)
  • Aruba (AUA)
  • Dublin, Ireland (DUB)

If they came from these airports, they already went through customs before boarding the plane and do not need to go through customs again at PHL.
