PHL Pet Policy
PHL PET POLICY
Philadelphia’s airport provides seven pet relief areas ranging from 250 to 600 square feet. Two are available in Terminal A, and the remaining terminals (B, C, D, E, and F) all have one each. There are several pre- and post-security options, meaning pet parents do not have to exit secure animals in order to let Fido stretch his legs. The outdoor areas are contained by four-foot high fences with latch gates and are outfitted with a mulch surface, a bench, faux fire hydrants, and biodegradable pet waste bags. The Philadelphia International Airport pet policy requires all owners to clean up solid waste after their dogs.
Though the Philadelphia International Airport pet policy does not explicitly state this rule, it is important to always keep non-service animals in their crates and carriers while traveling through the airport. Your dog should only exit the crate when going through security and while utilizing an animal relief area. Airport security canines frequently roam the terminals with their accompanying humans, so we expect PHL pet policy to take their comfort and safety into consideration when creating rules for pets.
Additionally, the Philadelphia Airport pet policy requires that all animals using animal relief areas be leashed. It can be difficult to predict an animal’s behavior when it is under stress (i.e. traveling through an airport terminal), and leashing your dog is a great preventative strategy. Philadelphia is a large, busy airport, and leashing or crating your animal is the best way to keep him safe.
